The 4 Pillars Of A Successful Remodel

We are pleased to announce our first Blog Posting!

We thought it would be a good idea to begin by going back to the fundamentals of remodeling. We believe with these basic components the customer sets themselves up for success from the beginning.

The First Pillar is Design

With the excitement of starting a new project sometimes this very important step can be overlooked. It is similar to constructing a building without a set of plans. The customer may be tempted to jump into the project and design it along the way. The logic behind this is may be the opportunity to save time and money. Unfortunately what can end up happening is hasty decisions can be made and more money will be spent fixing what was not thought through in the beginning.

By hiring a professional interior designer the customer will actualize the best design for the space and will ultimately have the best chance of being happy and satisfied with the end result.

The Second Pillar is Material

The designer helps the homeowner select quality materials that work in harmony to achieve the desired end result. It is important to select quality materials that not only look good but have good functionality.

For example we always recommend epoxy grout because you never have to seal it and it is virtually mold and stain proof. A designer may also recommend are heated tile floors, soft close hardware, and frameless glass for showers.

Selecting the right lighting is also something an interior designer can help implement in setting the usability and mood of the space.

The Third Pillar is Craftsmanship

This is where we come in. In order for everything to be realized according to the overall vision it’s essential to have a contractor that has the right people focusing attention to detail on the right things.

We have made it our commitment over the last 15 years to have a team of professionals skilled at every step of the remodeling process. It is imperative when remodeling to have a “can do attitude”, the ability to keep things on schedule, and a high level of respect for the customer to make a project successful.

Paying careful attention to the infrastructure (framing, electrical, plumbing , insulation, etc. ) is also essential to achieving a quality remodel.

The Last Pillar is Communication

Our ultimate goal in a project is synchronicity. We want to look back at a project and say, “That went like clock work!”

In order to achieve synchronicity it is important to maintain a workable line of communication between the customer, designer, contractor, and subcontractors. We call it the “Team Approach”.

By selecting the right team the remodeling process can be exciting with the customer is left feeling completely satisfied with the end result.
